Short Eared Owl (Asio flammeus)-
Just a brief comment on the "gear"- altho I've only had the lens for a few weeks (& the light has been poor on all but a small number of days since), I must admit that I've been pleasantly surprised at it's capabilities so far..
I've only used it with a D810 body to-date & this combination seems to work well.
The auto-focus is pretty fast &, in truth, the ability to track moving subjects has exceeded my expectations. The lens/body combination feels well-balanced & even I manage to hand-hold it (this is further complimented by an effective V.R mode).
I've not tried it with a (1.4) converter as yet but I can't really say I'm too bothered about this.
Nikon appear to have delivered a good, competitively priced product to market & I'll be surprised if this lens doesn't continue to grow in popularity.
