TR808 Bass drum

Behold, Bananeurysm's 808BD circuit board. One of my first synth-DIY projects. This is a clone of the legendary Roland 808 Bass Drum instrument in - t i n y - footprint. (that Moog pointer knob is about 1 1/4" in diameter)

Notice the "Japanese'ing" of the resistors in order to squeeze into the small package.

But powered, triggered, and connected to a good bass amp and this dynamo shakes the house. If you set the 'decay' pot all the way to the extreme and walk away, you stand the risk of stray capacitance causing a sonic rumble that decays indefinitely (aka does not decay at all!).

Coming soon... the 808 Snare.
