Woodhams Barry 12.11.67

Another bedraggled and tenderless 'Castle' stands in Luens Bank awaiting the cutter's torch. This time the obvious basket case is 5080 'Defiant', that had emerged from Swindon 28 year earlier as 'Ogmore Castle', but was patriotically renamed in honour of the Battle of Britain's least successful aircraft. Seeing the loco in its present-day condition is scarcely credible when studying this shot.
