Nikon 50-300mm Crop
I inherited this manual focusing BEAST from my grandfather and was astonished at how sharp this lens can be. The ED glass elements really made a difference. The apertures float around because of the teleconverters. I started out at f/5.6 to match the 18-200mm lens and then dropped it down to f/4.5 when I stacked on the converters. If I were to do this again (and I might), I would likely set all lenses to f/9 or f/11 because that seems to be a sweeter spot for most lenses and it would give equal footing when modifying the focal length with teleconverters.
