The Sengottai-Kollam line is planned to open for traffic on 30/03/2018 , 8 years after train services were on September 2010 to facilitate the gauge conversion work of 49.2-km Punalur-Sengottai section.

 

The 13 Arch Bridge is a 112–year–old bridge. The bridge consists of 13 arches and is a major landmark on the Kollam-Sengottai railway line (Commisioned in the year 1904) as well as a testimony to the architectural abilities of the British. The bridge connects two hillocks and stands on thirteen granite pillars each almost a hundred feet tall.
