Autumn morning at the river
I love the light on an early morning river, especially when the seasons change, the grasses seem to glow yellow and the water is quieter, less tempestuous than in summer or winter. The tree in the foreground is a Cape chestnut. This is the view from my deck. Lucky me. From my bed I saw this heron stalking its prey, balance perfect and patient. I have NEVER been successful at photographing this most beautiful goliath heron, to my great disappointment but here he is anyway.
My workload should be decreasing from this week onward. My apologies for my very sporadic visits to your beautiful sites.
