Lapwing - In the sunshine on the Rushy Pen lake

One of the numerous lapwings seen yesterday morning at Slimbridge Wetlands Centre, this bird was one of several individuals that were separate from the main flock, and was feeding and resting on one of the scrapes on the Rushy Pen lake. This shot was taken from the Rushy Pen hide.
