The Charnel House
In the far corner of the Graveyard of St. Helens is this Charnel House, it was a makeshift mortuary used until the bodies were taken away for burial. Its location close to the river Thames is key as bodies found washed up or floating were stored here awaiting identification. Used until the start of 20th Century. Public health acts forced it's closure.
