Rash Mela(Fair) is one of the biggest festival in Bangladesh especially for the Hindu Caste People which is to pay honor and homage to Lord Krishna. It is held on the days of Rash Purnima (Full Moon). The Fair takes place in different places of the country as well as in Dublar Char which is an island in Bay of Bengal and a part of the biggest mangrove forest in the world called Sundarbans.

 

Rash Mela is a 200 years old festival which also started taking place in Dublar Char since 1923.

 

Many people gather at Dublar Char which is usually populated by seasonal fishermem who catches fished from the sea, process it, make it dried and supply through out the country.

 

On the Rash Mela, as part of prayer and custom the people pass the whole moonlit night in the fair and in the very morning before the sunrise, they say prayer and take bath in the sea.
