Golden Stupa
The magnificent stupa of Shwedagon Pagoda during the blue hour. Built over 2500 years ago, Schwedagon is the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar, as it is believed to contain relics of the four previous Buddhas of the present kalpa (a long period of time in Buddhist cosmology). The stupa stands about 560 feet in height, and Yangon's zoning regulation caps the maximum height of buildings at 417 feet to ensure the prominence of the pagoda in the city's skyline.
