When the Mongols swept through China and into the Korean peninsula in the 13th century, they left behind not only their genetic legacy, but they influenced Korean culture, language, and cuisine. It is no wonder that after Chinese and Russian tourists, South Koreans are the third most numerous tourists in the country, and South Korea boasts the largest expat population of Mongolians living and working there.
