Hopscotch for the mathematically challenged . . .
I can't decide if this picture is about the trials of inner city youth who grow up without playgrounds and thus have to let their imaginations run around in parking lots . . . or if it's about the triumph of the child’s spirit over urban sprawl and capitalism . . . OR if it's a glowing example of how poorly our schools are educating our children.
There isn't even a 10 for freak's sake! And she had the ENTIRE parking lot, yet chose to have it run right into the cement curb.
Rant aside, I actually quite like this shot. Nice light and shadow courtesy of some neat-o downtown trees and some interesting subject matter courtesy of summer and a welfare mother.
This was taken in the parking lot where I had to pay to park while I made crap wages as a student assistant for the state. Each day when I walked out to my car was a new adventure in a game the neighborhood liked to play called "what weird thing can we leave in the parking lot." If only I always traveled with a camera . . .
