In 2018 Walter was rescued from a trap. When he was found he was near death. His left front paw had to be partially amputated due to his injury from the trap. As a result he could never be released back into the wild. But now he is thriving in his new home. Florida panthers are critically endangered in the wild- with only about 120-240 cats remaining. He is a beautiful cat and a great ambassador for people to learn more about Florida panthers.
