Obsidian pebbles
Obsidian is volcanic glass, lava that cooled quickly. Little drops of lava can form pebbles like these. Native Americans used larger pieces of the material to make sharp-edged tools, like arrowheads and knives. An obsidian knife is sharper than a steel one.
