Transformers Dark of the Moon- Crankcase
Hey everyone! Here is Crankcase, one of the dreads, from Dark of the Moon. Dotm needed some love so this is my first completely new transformer from the movie (jetwing optimus doesn't count) In case you are wondering which one was crankcase in the movie, he's the one who gets thrown onto a car by Ironhide and slammed into a shop and explodes. I'm not sure if I am going to do the other dreads (Crowbar+Hatchet) because they all turn into the same vehicle mode but have different robot modes. Not really my best but I do like both robot and vehicle mode thought I find the transformation very annoying. I'm going to be very busy this week so I won't be starting on my next transformer yet.
Robot mode- Not bad, though he has a lot of kibble on him (The toy also had a lot though it did a better job at compacting it) especially the panels on his arms and his big backpack. with the front windshield hanging off of it (I couldn't do anything about that) The big backpack doesn't bother me as much as I originally though probably because it doesn't really interfere with articulation. The legs came out very nice especially how the back wheels fold in and are covered by the panels. I tried my best to create his "robo dreadlocks" and the pincers on his back. (His design in the movie is supposed to be based off Predator)
Vehicle mode- He is a Chevrolet suburban emergency vehicle. My favorite out of the 2 modes. Fairly clean and does a good job on hiding the robot parts. It also has side view mirrors which I often forget to put on my carformers
Transformation- Check out the video on my photostream. Most of it was had to be engineered by myself because the toy's transformation was almost impossible to pull off in lego form at this scale.
