I'm always happy to see one!

The USFW declared war on this bird in the Columbia River and was wiping out nesting colonies, having decided they were destroying too many salmon fingerlings. Truth is, the salmon is endangered by warmer waters, dams, overfishing, and the fact that fishery-raised salmon are just too visible! I don't know if they are still doing this, as of 2020 they were. And they are also killing sea lions because they have the audacity to eat salmon. I decided in 2015 that I would never, ever, eat salmon again. Because I'd rather see a beautiful, live, cormorant (or sea lion), than have a tasty meal.
