The cantilever supports a pier that doesn't have posts in the water. The pictures of the airplane going through the cables that I posted yesterday was taken through the cables shown here. I went out yesterday with a wide-angle lens specifically to get different views of the structures. I'd always taken shots at around 24 mm, this lens kept me between 10 and 18mm. The ship in the picture is the Columbia Rediviva, after which the Columbia river was named in 1792.
