35_Ritchey WCS Grips

Grips on the first mountain bikes in the very early 80's were made of plastic. In 1983, Grab-On, a motocross brand, brought a foam grip to the market: the MTN-1 was instantly adopted both in after market or OEM. The comfort it provided on bikes that had no suspensions was already a first huge improvement.

Later, early 90's another MX brand once more transformed the market: OURY proposed the famous grips with the name engraved into the blocks of the grip. Bulky, increasing the grip diameter, soft and wearing fast, they were the goto solution for all gravity racers, providing comfort and security, even in wet conditions.

Foam grips can still be found today, and continue to be one of the best compromise between weight and grip.

I use such grips since 15 years without disappointment, and will continue for a heritage build.
