Back in 1984, Joe Breeze and Josh Angell came out with the Hite-Rite, a seatpost accessory that would let mountain bikers raise or lower their saddles in a few seconds, even while riding. They were marketed with the tagline, “Descend with conviction.”

MTB races becoming shorter to allow spectators to view more of the riders, racers dropped this accessory in the early 90's. 2011 Rockshox release the Reverb. First models, like the all other brands at this time, were wacky. But the product was right, and once quality stabilized, this accessory became the game changer it ought to be. As critical as disk brakes, suspension or clipless pedals.
