Grey francolins (Ortygornis pondicerianus), Ranthambore National Park, India

Aside from its forests, Ranthambore also has dry, open areas with sparse vegetation and these are the habitat of the grey francolin, which feeds on insects, particularly termites, seeds and on occasion even snakes. Breeds from Iran to Bengal.
