Anhinga (Anhinga anhinga), Tobago Plantations, Tobago

Swims with the entire body submerged, only the snake-like head and neck showing above the surface of the water, resembling the conning tower of a submarine. The word anhinga comes from the Tupi language of the Amazon and means "snake bird". Found from the southern US to Uruguay.
