Yellow-crowned night-heron (Nyctanassa violacea), in mangrove swamp, Tobago Plantations, Tobago

Harsh screams coming from the mangrove swamp led to the discovery of this adult yellow-crowned night-heron. Unlike the black-crowned, the yellow-crowned night-heron is restricted to the Americas. It breeds from New England to southern Brazil.
