Ruddy ground-dove (Columbina talpacoti), Tobago Plantations, Tobago

But immediately outside the hotel there are subjects to capture without going any further. The tiny ruddy ground-dove (all of 18 cm) is a bird of open country that has adapted to human-altered environments. Whilst it does forage on the ground, it nests in trees. Breeds from Mexico to Argentina.
