Trollstigen, Fjordland, Norway

This dramatic switchback route climbs 850 m from sea level at Åndalsnes to reach the pass, before it descends again to Gronning in the neighbouring valley. There are 11 hairpin bends before the pass is reached. The Stigfossen waterfall tumbles 320 m into the valley. Trollstigen means ladder of the trolls. From a slide.
