Approaching Kachemak Bay, Alaska

In the foreground rosebay willowherb (Chamaenerion angusti-folium), in the background the 1500 m-high Kenai Mountains. One of the tongues of a massive icefield is visible in the centre. Alaska was always more heavily glaciated in the south than the north. From a Kodachrome slide taken in 1993.
