Heuglin's gull (Larus heuglini), Thottada, Kerala

Although it looks rather large, the immature on the left is of the same species -- no larger gull species occurs in Kerala. Sometimes considered conspecific with lesser black-backed bull (L. fuscus). Greenshank (Tringa nebularia) in background.
