Carrion crow (Corvus corone) fishing, Nagshead, Gloucestershire
What it was hunting was unclear, although I read that their diet may contain amphibians. Maybe it had some heron genes in its DNA ! The carrion crow is the species of Western Europe, with the curious exception of Ireland and parts of Scotland. There, as in Italy and Eastern Europe, the hooded crow (C. cornix) dominates.
