Female fawn-breasted brilliant (Heliodoxa rubinoides) portrait, Nanegalito, Ecuador
Photographed in the cloud-forest zone on the western slope of the Andes. A rather shy hummingbird species, occurring from Colombia to Bolivia. To my mind, fawn-breasted is rather a misnomer; the underparts are normally pink as far as I am aware.
