Coal tit (Parus ater), Cannop Ponds, Gloucestershire
This is not an exceptional shot, due to the fact that the bird is obviously attracted to the photographer by what is an untidy scatter of seeds; also, the diagnostic white nape-stripe is barely visible. However, in these tough times when purpose-designed photo-trips are off the agenda, I have to post more modest offerings, and in fact this is currently my best shot of this species.
