Mississippi alligator (Alligator mississippiensis), Corkscrew Swamp, Florida

I can remember getting out of the car to approach an adult alligator in a roadside pool in Florida (not this animal) in order to photograph it. To my surprise it moved swiftly towards me. Just as swiftly I got back in the car.
