Matyas Church and Fishermen's Bastion, Budapest
The church by night crowns the Varhegy hilltop, guarded by the turrets of the Fishermen's Bastion, the hideous bulk of the Hilton hotel intruding immediately to the right of the church. The construction of this building was, amazingly, sanctioned by the communist regime of Janos Kadar in the 1960s.
