Alpine bearberry (Arctous alpina) leaves carpet the Alaskan tundra red in autumn

Autumn is brief in central Alaska. I was once told there: we have two seasons here: July and winter. Alpine bearberry is a species in the heather family with a moorland habitat and circumpolar distribution. From a slide. I have tried to reproduce the actual colour of the plant as accurately as possible.
