The Netherlands. It is so rare to find so much going on in a horse photo as is captured here. The mere arrangement of the horses carries the eye in a zig-zag across the frame... and then there is the beauty of the horses in the water at different levels... head only, up to the top of the leg and then trotting through the water knee deep. Great photograph.

Andorra. I am drawn to look where the horse looks here following its gaze down the angled sweep of the mountainside... all the more so because the horse's eyes are obscured in darkness. Then the horse itself is so beautiful with the bright mane contrasting the dark face and neck. And then, too, the blonde grass echoes the blonde mane.

Yonaguni, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. I like the curve of the shore repeated by the curve of the road here... they lead my eye right to the horses and the lighthouse beyond. I also like the sharpness of the rad and grass in the foreground that contrast with the unclear horizon where sky and sea meet in the background. What a wonderful photograph.

Kirkjubøur, Faroe Islands. I enjoy how the angles of the roof echoes the angle of the horses (and rock) on the steep slope. I also enjoy the contrasting greens of the roof and grass and the grays of the siding and rock -- no of which match the colors of the horses. This makes the horses' colors stand out all the more. Delightful composition and beautiful horses as well.
