David Victor says: White Sands National Monument, New Mexico, USA. This photograph is captivating. There is an unreal aspect here, as if from a semi-abstract painting that just keeps me looking at the scene. There is a simple, other-worldly beauty to the composition here from broad sweeps of color from the central dark blue of the mountains at center to the paler gray-blue of the sky at the top of the scene and pure, rippling white of the sands at the bottom of the photograph.
