Milwaukee Road E9A 38A Chicago IL 8-10-1970

Here's a shot of Milwaukee Road E9A 38A leading a commuter train through Chicago IL August 1970. The 38A was built in April 1961 and was retired sometime in the 80s. The 38A was part of the collection at the National Railway Museum in Green Bay but was offered for sale in 2008. I'm not sure if a buyer was ever found or if it was scrapped. The 38A was built for commuter service and was built with a Head End Power generator instead of a steam generator. This train is passing the B.A. Eckhart flour mill in the Fulton Market district. Chicago, IL August 10, 1970. Unknown Photographer Kodachrome from my Collection.
