Duluth Winnipeg and Pacific RS11 3612 Duluth MN 3-13-1975
Here's a shot of DWP RS11 3612 in the yard in West Duluth March 1975. The 3612 was built in September 1956 and was sent to the Central Vermont in 1978, becoming CV 3612. The Peg rostered 15 RS11s numbered 3600-14 and were all sent to the Central Vermont between 1978 and 1983. The DWP replaced these RS11s with 10 former Grand Trunk Western SD40s and 4 former Rock Island GP38-2s. The RS11s were built with lightweight trucks but were replaced with regular Type B trucks at some point and the gearing was changed from 74:18 to 65:18 to increase their max speed from 65-75mph.
