Paul's Winter Wonderland [miniature set]
No, this is not a painting. It's a photo of a small portion of a miniature set of an entire village nestled in the snowy mountains, complete with trains, waterfalls, animatronics, flashing lights, and Christmas music. The craftsmanship is stunning! The village is set up in my neighbor Paul's garage every year for the holiday season, along with an incredible display of decorations and lights around his home. This time, I got there before his family was done setting up; in a week, there will be throngs of people stopping by and it will be very difficult to maneuver around with a tripod to get a good shot!
I took many time exposure shots at night to capture a warm feel for the illuminations and flashing lights. This one was 2.5 seconds, and gave the set a sharp yet artistic feel to it.
