Bridgnorth Cliff Railway

Note the streamlined design of the carriages.

Britain's only working inland cliff railway, apparently. It dates from 1892 and was built as an attraction for victorian tourists.

The Pevsner guide to Shropshire tells me that the railway is 65m (210ft) long rising 34m (111ft) at a gradiant of 1 in 1.5.
