Heinrich and Hilda at their home

We stayed with them a few days.

Heinrich had been a German soldier in WWII. He was captured and sent to America as a prisoner of war where he worked as a chef. Upon returning home after the war, he found his town was completely destroyed. As he was wandering the streets he heard someone calling his name. When he asked who she was, she said she was his sister. She had grown up and the war had changed her so much he did not recognize her.
