Southern Fulmar (Fulmarus glacialoides)

Valparaíso, Chile. A few weeks ago, I--along with my good friend Tom--had the good fortune to do some pelagic birding off the coast of Chile. The weather cooperated (although I was still glad to have taken some Dramamine beforehand) and the birds didn't disappoint. One of the highlights was this lone Southern Fulmar that appeared about 3/4 of the way into the trip. In flight, its shimmery gray wings really stand out in the crowd. Thanks for looking.
