Collared Flycatcher (Ficedula albicollis)
Valea Morilor, Chisinau, Moldova. These flycatchers are among my favorite birds in Moldova. In addition to the striking color pattern on the males, they sing a series of pleasing whistled notes. They're hard to photograph given their frequent movements and tendency to be in shaded areas. I got up early on my last morning in Chisinau in the hope of getting a better photo, and mostly lucked out with this one. Thanks for looking.
