European Bee-eater (Merops apiaster)

Outside of Chisinau, Moldova. A major life bird for me. I had the pleasure of joining a couple local birders, who took me to a nesting spot for the Bee-eaters. What a treat. In addition to their fabulous colors, they also exhibit a joyful flight pattern, sometimes hanging in the wind like kites.
