XZ581 Westland Sea King HAS.6, Royal Navy, Rockall, North Atlantic
XZ581 was the first Sea King HAS.6 conversion and was operated at the time by A&AEE Boscombe Down. It was operating from A386 RFA 'Fort Austin' on Mark 6 sonics trials in the North Atlantic and I took it from ZA136, the first RNAY Fleetlands conversion, which was operating with 824 NAS A Flight. It is seen here in the hover over Rockall, a granite islet at coordinates: 57°35′46.7″N 13°41′14.3″W.
(This photo was originally in my other Flickr collection which I am in the (very slow) process of clearing down to the allowed 1,000 photos.)
