‘Lydia Litvyak’, Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre, Omaka, Blenheim, Marlborough, New Zealand

Lydia Litvyak was born in Moscow in 1921 and during her 66 combat sorties it is estimated her total victories range from five to twelve solo victories and two to four shared kills. She was shot down during the Battle of Kursk on her fourth sortie of the day and died at the age of 21.
