Standard E1, Richmond Air Museum, Richmond International, Virginia, United States of America

The only fighter or Pursuit aircraft type manufactured by the US during the Great War. This particular aircraft was made in 1918 and was powered by an 80hp Le Rhone engine. One of only two still in existence, it was discovered in a barn near Dayton, Ohio in the 1950s by Sidney L Shannon Jnr whose airline restored it over an eight year period into these US Army Air Service markings.
