R.I.P Ian, with much respect

Photography, Dangerous?!

depends on what your shooting.

this is my friend from flickr, Ian. joy of the maundane

he passed away from a tragic accident. so next weeks daily exercise is dedicated to him... for those of you who see this and want a heads up on the theme.

taken for granted, i could just tune in, when ever and see what treasures he produced...

a fuckin' month went by before i discovered my friend was no longer with us. so now is my shock and grieving process. Ian shot a lot of things, but a big part of his photos were graffiti. while shooting with a friend in a drainage tunnel, a flash flood came and washed Ian away from us. Dangerous. sometimes i guess. hell, Lima~Beans gets shots of gators, 5 feet away from her. me... i'm too chicken. i'll shoot that bumble bee on that flower over there, thank you. that's me, living on the edge.

but, Ian turned my photography over to things i saw... i enjoyed, but never really pointed my camera at. rust. an old nail in wood, graffiti, beer bottles left in a parking lot, gum on the ground. get up on it. check it out. check out different angles.

i miss him. i miss that daily inspiration.

i HIGHLY suggest, checking out his sets. looking through his photos and reading his funny commentary. the man had a fantastic eye for things that most of us over look, or don't even think about shooting.

thanks, Ian. no doubt your shooting the wonders of heaven - if that's what you believe.
