render glass test
17/02/14
This is a rendered stelated icosahedron. Instead of the program 'Blender' I was using for rendering, I found one more suited to Apple Macs called 'Kerkythea' which easily allowed me to render objects as if they were glass. I have recently been [physically] experimenting with the aesthetics of reflections and so this works as an effective concept experiment. The refractions and prism-lighting effects of polished glass are truly beautiful - even more so as they are affected by the position of light and the observer, especially on this complex manifold I have chosen to model the glass texture on.
