Las Bodegas is the end of the holiday island of Tenerife. On the TF-12 in El Bailadero turn at the central crossroads in the mountains. It is on a narrow, very winding road (TF-123) to the east.
The impression to go to the end of the world, one has when one drives the ever closer and deteriorating serpentine along. The road leads through the Anaga Mountains on 1,000 meters above sea level and on the ridge along to Las Bodegas. The rugged mountains of the Anaga Mountains are sometimes so high that you can stand in a cloud and can not be sure where the earth ends and the sky begins. Left and right of the road you can see the sky and the Atlantic Ocean. You already out of the car to see the slopes left and right. There are growing gorse, heather, palm trees, dragon trees and bay along the road. During a break at the roadside can listen to the rustling in the bushes which is produced by Lizards. Las Bodegas is also a bird paradise.
Again and again, offer stunning panoramic views of the valleys on either side of the mountain ridge. At the most beautiful places of the road there are vantage points (Mirador) with the possibility to park the car and enjoy the unique landscape.
The closer you get to Las Bodegas, the fewer cars crossing the road until the road ends at a small parking lot. In Las Bodegas can enjoy the seclusion and tranquility or to let the wonderful view on you. It consists of a few houses and a small chapel.
Las Bodegas ist das Ende der Ferieninsel Tenerife. Auf der TF-12 in El Bailadero biegt man an der zentralen Kreuzung ab in die Berge. Es geht auf einer engen, sehr kurvenreichen Straße (TF-123) weiter nach Osten.
Den Eindruck, zum Ende der Welt zu fahren, hat man, wenn man die immer enger und schlechter werdende Serpentinen entlang fährt. Die Straße führt durch das Anaga-Gebirge auf ca. 1.000 Höhenmetern hinauf und auf dem Bergkamm entlang bis nach Las Bodegas. Die zerklüfteten Berge des Anaga-Gebirges sind teilweise so hoch, dass man in einer Wolke stehen kann und sich nicht sicher sein kann, wo die Erde aufhört und der Himmel anfängt. Links und Rechts der Straße sieht man den Himmel und den Atlantik. Man schon aus dem Auto aussteigen, um die Abhänge links und rechts zu sehen. Es wachsen Ginster, Erika, Palmen, Drachenbäumen und Lorbeer entlang der Straße. Bei einer Pause am Straßenrand kann man dem Rascheln im Gebüsch lauschen, das durch Eidechsen und Geckos entsteht. Las Bodegas gilt auch als Vogelparadies.
Immer wieder bieten sich beeindruckende Panoramablicke auf die Täler beiderseits des Gebirgskammes. An den schönsten Stellen der Straße gibt es Aussichtspunkte (Mirador) mit der Möglichkeit das Auto zu parken und die einmalige Landschaft zu genießen.
Je näher man nach Las Bodegas kommt, desto weniger Autos kreuzen den Weg, bis die Straße an einem kleinen Parkplatz endet. In Las Bodegas kann man die Abgeschiedenheit und Ruhe genießen oder die wundervolle Aussicht auf sich wirken zu lassen. Es besteht aus wenigen Häusern und einer kleinen Kapelle.
