PC at KN

A northbound Penn Central train gets ready to clatter across the diamond at Kentland, Indiana in July of 1974. Both lines at this point were controlled by PC being former NYC and PRR routes. Kentland tower is seeing it's last years by now and would be gone in a year and a half with the coming of Conrail. In 6 more years, Milwaukee Road, Conrail and Santa Fe trains would be coming through this junction. Unfortunately for me, I never saw the tower. Photo was taken by Robert Lambka. View looks S/S/E from Route 24.

Penn Central GP38 #7692 was built by EMD in June of 1969. GP38's were the main power for this line up to and including Conrail.
