F-Unit Friday

A southbound C&EI train comes under "old woody" near Grant Park and heads towards Momence sometime in the 1950's. The F in f-unit stands for the horsepower that the locomotive had (1400). E-units were 1800, S units were 600 and N units were 900. This is a beautiful snow scene and was well done. I have little info on it though. The engineer is looking towards the photographer. Time of day appears to be afternoon.

C&EI F3A #1408 was built by EMD in December of 1948, so it was fairly new here.
